This is a blood anticoagulant which contributes to the pathogenesis of pseudothrombocytopenia. It can also chelated with the calcium and can inhibits the blood clotting. This is apt for many haematological tests. Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid (EDTA) Disodium Salt is also utilized to boost the antibacterial action of lysozyme.
